Jankovic through to last 8

Jelena Jankovic capped off her best ever showing at the Australian Open reaching the quarter finals of the tournament. The Serbian was pressed in the opening set against local favourite Casey Dellacqua, but won it in the tie break. The 3rd seed then dominated the match winning 7-6, 6-1. Meanwhile early on day 8, Venus Williams reached the last eight with a hard-fought win over Poland's Marta Domachowska. Williams will play fourth seed Ana Ivanovic who beat Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki. Also through to the quarters was 9th seed Daniela Hantuchova
